Packaging company Pro Mach’s brand IPak will introduce its new servo-driven TF-350 S-Series tray former, which delivers better speed, tray flexibility, and forming consistency in a simpler design.
According to the company, the new TF-350 S-Series operates in all-servo mode for most of the tray forming process with an improved version of the brand's previous platform.
The tray former features a Compact Logix PLC and touch screen HMI that provides ease of use and monitoring of all functions, and simplified machine adjustments as well as size changeovers.
With preset tray size recipes, color-coded dials and handles, and convenient on-machine instructions changeovers can be clearly defined and repeatable.
Common footprint rollover or laminated side trays can be formed, which are suitable for agricultural and bakery applications, including Defor, One Touch, and other similar tray styles for flat packs of fruits, vegetables and baked goods.
TF-350 operates at speeds of up to 30 trays per minute continuously, and a changeover enables it to form MUB style trays. It uses servo control to bring the right amount of speed at optimal moments, such as blank feeding and mandrel operation.
During forming for softer handling, the S-Series applies less force and delivers additional efficiencies by decreasing the overall amount of parts required to operate the machine.
IPak claims the advanced operating system also uses a smaller drive and blank advance pattern, which reduces the machine's overall footprint by 27%.
The company will showcase its IPak TF-350 S-Series tray former at Pack Expo Las Vegas, taking place from 23-25 September 2013.
