The parquet flooring industry is celebrating after figures have shown that there has been a noticeable increase in production this year. Previously the parquet industry had a lot of investment in to positive development, but all of this was undone with the financial recession causing a drop in production. The recession has affected production and sales in many areas but the first positive signs are beginning to show again. Parquet flooring is one of the areas where there is noticeable improvement with a 4% rise in production in 2010 compared to the previous year. Although the rise is only slight it is a noticeable difference for the industry as the previous two years saw production rates drop by around a fifth each year. Those in the industry will be hoping that, despite it being a small percentage increase, this sign heralds a new era for the parquet manufacturers. Parquet flooring is favored by many people who would like to have a wooden floor in the home but prefer something more original than the usual varieties. The floors are produced by creating a pattern from wooden blocks, which repeats across the floor, allowing the high quality of traditional wood floors combined with the unique style of parquet.
