Visitor Numbers Reached Roughly 40,000 at The Floor-Coverings Trade Fair Domotex

The fair organiser Deutsche Messe assumes that visitor numbers reached roughly 40,000 at the floor-coverings trade fair Domotex which was held from 12 to 15 January in Hannover. More than 60% of those visitors came from abroad, with roughly one half of foreign visitors coming from Europe, 21% from Asia and 11% from North/South America. The organiser estimates that over-proportional growth was primarily achieved in visitor numbers from North America and South and East Asia. As in the previous years, the main visitor groups were buyers from the wholesale trade, who accounted for 30% and from the specialist retail trade, with 20%. The number of exhibitors reached roughly 1,350 and was therefore at the lower end of the most recently announced forecasts. The next staging of Domotex will be from 11 to 14 January 2014. With the repetition in 2014 of the Wood Flooring Summit, which was held for the first time in January 2012, participation by the laminate-flooring and parquet industry is to be significantly increased again.
