Recently,the transaction prices of electric furnace(EF)killed wire rods have increased to NT$19,500/ton in the Taiwanese market,driven by rising scrap prices.
In fact,the transaction prices of EF killed wire rods had ever surged to NT$22,200/ton in the Taiwanese market;however,it started to decrease,affected by China Steel Corp.(CSC)'s low-priced wire rod promotion.
Market insiders said that the transaction volumes of EF killed wire rods have increased slightly in the Taiwanese market due to rising scrap prices.
For the prospect,it is predicted that the transaction prices of EF killed wire rods would increase further if the scrap prices continue rising.
