Canada-based Lambton Conveyor is set to receive a funding from the government for the expansion of its grain handling and storage equipment manufacturing operations.
Under the FedDev Ontario's Prosperity Initiative, the government will contribute about C$3.1m that must be re-payed later.
This contribution will support the expansion of two existing facilities in Florence and Bothwell to one larger facility in Wallaceburg, Ontario that is expected to be double the current space. The company will also use funds to invest in new equipment and increase production and storage capacity for its grain manufacturing operations.
This project will provide 110 jobs and is expected to create 150 new jobs by 2015 in the Chatham-Kent area.
Canada MP Bev Shipley said that this funding will enable the company to expand its facilities by investing in new equipment in the Chatham-Kent area.
