LiquiGlide Has Inked a Licensing Pact with Orkla

LiquiGlide has inked a licensing pact with Norway-based branded consumer goods supplier Orkla, allowing the latter to use its slippery coating for mayonnaise products across Nordics, Germany, Benelux and the Baltics.

LiquiGlide's permanently wet and slippery coating ensures smooth flow of viscous products.

Keeping in view the particular needs of applications, the coatings are customized from an array of natural ingredients. Claiming to satisfy all the safety norms, the company said the coatings are completely derived from food.

The coating is based on MIT's patented liquid-impregnated surface technology, which LiquiGlide has been commercializing since 2012.

LiquiGlide CEO and co-founder Dave Smith said: "We chose to work with Orkla because they are an innovative and leading consumer goods company in the Nordics and the Baltics.

"Our exclusive agreement affirms that LiquiGlide's coatings create substantial value for consumers by enabling them to get every last drop.

"At LiquiGlide, we're changing the way liquids move."

Orkla mainly caters to the grocery, out-of-home and bakery markets in the Nordics, the Baltics and select markets across central Europe and India.

The firm posted turnover of $3.8bn in 2014.
