Ledlink Optics, a Taiwan-based makers of optical lenses used in LED lighting, has extended production to plastic casings used in omni-directional LED light bulbs and it expects to start shipments in large volumes in May-June 2013, according to the company.
Ledlink has installed two sets of equipment with a total monthly production capacity of 300,000-400,000 for such plastic casings at its factory in Dongguan, southern China, and is talking about orders with three international vendors, the company pointed out. Due to cheap plastic materials, use of plastic casings can reduce the retail prices of omni-directional LED light bulbs by about 20%, Ledlink indicated.
In addition, Ledlink has developed plastic thermal modules as a new product, with the heat dissipation effect equal to that of aluminum thermal modules, the company indicated. Plastic casings used in omni-directional LED light bulbs, plastic thermal modules and other new products together are expected to account for 15-20% of 2013 total revenues, Ledlink noted.
Ledlink's net earnings per share (EPS) for 2012 business operation is estimated at NT$4, and the company is expected to see 2013 revenues of NT$1.1-1.2 billion (US$37.8-41.2 million), growing by 24.15-35.44% from 2012, and net EPS of NT$6, according to market analysts.
