Konica Minolta Rides The Digital Labelling Wave

LabelExpo is a launchpad for Konica Minolta's new digital label press.

As individualised labelling gains relevance and popularity, digital printing gives label printers the opportunity to offer variable data printing. This is one of the reasons digital printing will be increasing in the converter market in the years to come, according to Konica Minolta, which has planned to enter the industrial printing market with its digital label press, the bizhub PRESS C71cf, at the beginning of 2016.

The Konica Minolta C71cf toner-based press takes the successful bizhub PRESS series of printers to a new level by providing award-winning digital printing solutions to the flexo market.

The bizhub PRESS C71cf can be used for the production of non-self-adhesive and self-adhesive labels and will produce short to mid runs at a competitive price, the company says.

It will have a faster turnaround time, will be easy to use and will provide variable data printing opportunities. It will run at 13.5m/min with a maximum paper width of 330mm and 1200 x 1200dpi resolution (with optical resolution of 3600dpi).

With all these features the bizhub PRESS C71cf will fill the gap between entry-level and high-end label printing presses currently available. It is therefore an affordable investment with mid to high productivity and high quality.

The machine will provide the most benefit for those customers who need to shift volumes from conventional to digital printing due to current developments in the markets to produce in shorter run length.
