Elmia Wood Showed a Considerable Increase in Exhibitor Numbers to 530

The world's leading forestry-technology fair Elmia Wood in J?nk?ping, Sweden, which was held from 5 to 8 June, showed a considerable increase in exhibitor numbers to 530. The organiser Elmia sold a total of 80,000 m2 of stand space on the 150-hectare fair site. Including demonstration areas, a total of 200,000 m2 of space was available to exhibitors at the fair, which was held in a forest. The fair, which has since 2009 been staged in a forest area permanently set up as a fair venue, boasted a so-called large-scale-machinery course with a length of 2.3 km and a small-scale-machinery course over 2 km, as had the events in previous years. Large-scale machinery mainly comprised equipment for professional forestry use. In the sector of smaller machinery, manufacturers concentrated on forestry machinery for part-timers and for hobby use, which is especially in demand in Scandinavia.
