Foxconn Electronics has obtained Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for frames for PV systems and the company indicated that it currently produces such frames on an OEM basis.
Since Foxconn also has experience in producing solar modules, power converters and junction boxes, some market watchers believe the Taiwan-based maker is already capable of making a whole solar power system and can enter the industry whenever it wants.
However, since the solar power industry is currently facing oversupply issues, the maker is now mainly focusing on landing OEM orders and obtaining needed certifications, while waiting for the solar industry to become more stable in the future, the market watchers analyzed.
