The role of maintenance in ensuring safe operations higher efficiency of equipment and infrastructure in the oil and gas sector was highlighted at a regional conference held in Bahrain.
Mr Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Finance Minister and Minister in charge of Oil and Gas Affairs said that scientific progress in the field of maintenance over the last few decades will bring about a boom in the energy sector allowing technology to take over tasks previously carried out by humans.Proactive,preventive and predictive maintenance applications still require a new generation of highly trained and skilled professionals.
Mr Al Khalifa said that"Rehabilitation of cadres working in the servicing sector is one of the key priorities of the National Oil and Gas Authority.In an effort to attain highly specialized skills necessary to operate technologically advanced equipment,Noga encourages the oil industry in Bahrain to invest heavily in training its maintenance staff to ensure that the energy sector retains its role as provider of wealth for the economy."
Devastating impact on the environment due to errors can be minimized due to proper maintenance and precautionary measures.The conference was attended by more than 800 participants,including senior executives,experts,consultants,engineers and professionals from the maintenance field.
