The Renault Master ute range has launched in Australia, presenting commercial buyers with a new option that offers seating for up to seven.
Available in two rear-wheel-drive cab-chassis variants, the Renault Master single-cab starts at $45,490, with the dual-cab priced from $50,490.
Powered by the front-wheel-drive Master van range’s 110kW/350Nm 2.3-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, the Renault Master ute is teamed as standard with a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed ZF-sourced ‘Quickshift’ automatic transmission adds an additional $2500.
Available in two chassis lengths in single-cab guise – 3682mm and 4332mm – and a sole 4332mm-long seven-seater in dual-cab, the Master ute features dual rear wheels helping to give it a payload of up to 2500kg and a 3000kg towing capacity – the latter positioning it behind the Ford Ranger, Holden Colorado and Mazda BT-50, placing it on par with the Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Isuzu D-Max and Volkswagen Amarok and ahead of the Toyota HiLux. Both are rated at 4500kg GVM, meaning drivers need only a regular car licence.
Standard equipment includes remote central locking, Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming, power front windows, a chilled glove box and a swivelling laptop table fitted to the back of the folding front middle seat.
Dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, cruise control and a variable speed limiter are also standard across both variants, while the dual-cab gains an automatic differential lock that is optionally available on the single-cab.
Optional equipment includes an alloy or steel drop-side tray, satellite navigation, a rear view camera, and a driver’s suspension seat. A transmission-driven Power Take Off and towing pack are also available.
A safety and security pack adds auto headlights with cornering function, fog lights, rain sensing wipers, a rear demister, dual head and side airbags (non-suspension seat versions), and an alarm.
The Renault Master ute range comes with a three-year/200,000km factory warranty, three years roadside assist, and capped-price servicing for the first 90,000km or three years (whichever comes first).
The new ute range joins the existing Master van line-up, which now also includes the $50,990 ($52,990 auto) LWB-based Master High Roof van.
