US based pulp and paper company Georgia-Pacific (GP) has acquired PAX Corrugated Products to expand its corrugated packaging business for an undisclosed sum.
With a workforce of over 100 staff in Lebanon, Ohio, PAX operates a corrugated sheet facility. On completion of the acquisition, PAX employees will become a part of the GP team.
Founded in 1991, PAX Corrugated Products offers services to food, pharmaceuticals, automotive and various consumer products industries.
The firm specializes in manufacturing flexographic printed corrugated boxes, point of purchase (POP) display, corrugated sheet conversion, flexographic printing, finished boxes and die cuts.
The company uses high speed flexo folder gluers, rotary and flat bed die cutting and litho laminating, to support short run box making and folding/gluing of autobottom boxes, sleeves and pre-glued trays.
GP Corrugated president Billy Medof said: “GP has had a working relationship with PAX Corrugated for many years. The PAX team will continue to deliver quality products and service to their customers as they do today.
“Their graphics and converting proficiency will accelerate our growth in digitally printed sheets from our Digital Print Solutions business and their display capability will expand our growing display business.”
PAX Corrugated Products co-founder Stan Bernard said: “The packaging industry has come a long way from when I became involved in the 1960s. Today, the industry is more advanced than ever.”
The GP Corrugated operations, headquartered in Atlanta, delivers a suite of products and services such as CubeLogic, Greenshield, Color-Box, Litho-Corr and Brand Ready Packaging.
GP, a unit of Koch Industries, employs 35000 people at over 200 facilities across the globe. It manufactures and delivers building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose and related chemicals.
