Demand for dual-lens camera modules from the smartphone sector is expected to begin to surge in the second half of 2016 as Android phone vendors are upgrading the functionary of their models in order to stir up replacement demand, according to industry sources.
Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and Huawei have incorporated dual-lens modules into their new models. More smartphone vendors and handset ODMs are waiting for the release of the next-generation iPhone, to see whether the new model also comes with a dual-lens module before they jump onto the bandwagon, said the sources.
The increasing popularity will keep demand for dual-lens modules growing at a high pace over the next 2-3 years, the sources estimated.
