Sorbent product manufacturer Multisorb Technologies has launched a low-profile desiccant card for managing moisture in pharmaceutical products.
The PolySorb can be used in packaging of in-vitro diagnostic device kits, transdermal pharmaceutical delivery systems and foil pouches.
With a thin and low-profile design, the cards can fit any packaging.
They provide a solution for low-level, humidity-related stability issues when product packaging lacks available space for a traditional desiccant packet.
"We have developed PolySorb desiccant cards as a solution to manage relative humidity in a low-profile format with the ability for further customisation to meet specific product requirements,"Adrian Possumato, VP of healthcare packaging, said.
With options for size and shape, the cards offer flexibility and ease of use.
The product is dust-free and can be dispensed on automated packaging lines using standard friction feeders. Available in custom sizes and shapes, the cards can be produced to meet specific user requirements and are fully supported by a Type III Drug Master File. Stock sizes include 0.5g and 1.0g equivalent cards.
