The first images and details of the facelifted Peugeot 3008 have been officially released, revealing modernised styling inside and out, new functions and additional equipment.
Covering both the standard 3008 crossover and diesel-electric 3008 HYbrid4 variant sold overseas, the update results in new lights front and rear, a revised grille and new chrome trim highlights for the foglight surrounds.
The interior has received new upholstery and trim, updated switchgear and revisions to the model’s head-up display including the assignment of specific colours for individual information: white for current speed, orange for speed limit, green for cruise control and red for distance warning.
Retaining its 4365mm length, 1837mm width and 1604-litre total luggage capacity, the Peugeot 3008 will be available in Europe with a variety of 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre trubo-diesel powerplants ranging from 84kW to 120kW with best fuel figures of 4.2 litres per 100km.
All four petrol engines offered – three turbocharged and one naturally aspirated – are 1.6-litre units, with power from 88kW to 120kW and claimed fuel consumption as low as 6.7L/100km. Five- and six-speed manual transmissions feature across the range – depending on the engine selected – as does a six-speed automatic transmission.
The HYbrid4’s unit, comprising a 120kW 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 27kW electric motor for a total output of 147kW, nets 3.4L/100km on the European test cycle – down from the previous model’s 3.8L/100km.
Along with a rear-view camera, the new 3008 gains fresh 16-, 17- and 18-inch wheel designs as well as nine exterior colours including a new Ruby red hue. The 3008 HYbrid4 is available in six colours.
The fresh-faced Peugeot 3008 is set to make its public debut on September 10 at the Frankfurt motor show.
The Peugeot 3008 range currently starts at $36,490 in Australia.
