Mexico's Steel Flat Products Consumption Falls by 5.7% Year on Year

According to data released by Mexico’s distributors’ association (Conadiac) and steel chamber Canacero, the country’s consumption of steel flat products totaled 3.54 million tons in the first four months of this year, falling by 5.7% year on year.

Among them, the country’s consumption of hot rolled coils (HRC) totaled 1.02 million tons, down by 12.2%; that of cold rolled coils (CRC) were at 1.05 million tons, rising by 2.1%, both compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.

Meanwhile, the consumption of coated steel products decreased by 6.1% year on year to 927,333 tons in January-April.
