Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Zhangjiagang Yangtze Cold Rolling Co., a subsidiary of Shagang Group, has carried out a successful hot run test on its new continuous pickling line unit No. 1, which is part of its 1,420 mm cold rolling project, as reported by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC). With this commissioning, Shagang finally has the ability to produce cold rolled steel products. Construction work was mainly carried out by WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd, and also by China MCC13 Group Co. and China MCC20 Group, subsidiaries of MCC.
The project in question has a designed annual cold rolled steel sheet output capacity of 2.6 million mt and will mainly supply the food packaging, electrical machinery, construction, automobile and household appliance sectors.
