Iraq Club Dubai Celebrates 1st Anniversary

6th March sees the anniversary event of The Iraq Club Dubai. This network for senior energy professionals operating in Iraq, has gone from strength to strength since it launched in 2012.

The bi-monthly event which regularly attracts over 100 senior representatives from companies such as Leightons, Gulftainer and Schlumberger, expects a higher turn out next month to celebrate its 1st anniversary. Special guests for the anniversary event include the Iraqi Consul General to the UAE.

The Iraq Club was co-founded by William Wakeham, CEO of specialist insurance brokers AAIB, and Leanne Case Senior Social Performance Specialist at Coffey. Miss Case explains that the Iraq Club was developed to connect the large number of companies operating in Iraq, but who operate from offices in the UAE.

Mr Wakeham adds that often companies operating in such environments work in a bubble, with little opportunity to meet others in a similar situation. This forum enables them to discuss the challenges faced in this unique marketplace, and to make important and long lasting connections.
