Google Android was the top smartphone platform with 53.7% share
Samsung was reported as the handset manufacturer with the highest market share of 26.9%, an increase of 1.2% compared to August 2012.
It was followed by Apple and LG, which had 18.5% and 17.5% market shares respectively between August to November 2012 in the US, according to a report by the comScore MobiLens service. Motorola had a 10.4% market share.
According to the report, Google Android was voted as the top smartphone platform with 53.7% of all smartphone subscribers, a 1.1% increase over the survey period, while the percentage of consumers preferring Apple increased 0.7% to 35% from August to November 2012.
During the period, about 75.9% of the smartphone subscribers used text messaging on mobile device, registering an increase of 0.3%.
