Soup company Yorkshire Provender has announced the launch of its range of six soups in a new 550ml ‘pouch in carton’ serving.
Completely new in design, the 'pouch in a carton' offers added benefits for both trade and consumer. Benefits include easier portability and reduced waste for retailers and microwave-friendly cartons with cardboard that keeps the pack cool and easier to handle.
According to the company, the 'pouch in a carton' has simple 'snip, heat and serve' on-pack instructions and eco-friendly packaging which is kinder to the environment, with use of over 80% less plastic.
The British designed packaging was developed by Terry Williams of Yorkshire Provender over a nine-month period.
The packs will be available at 48 select Waitrose stores in the chilled food section from early February 2013. The original pots will continue to be available in other Waitrose stores, Ocado, Booths and selected Tesco, Co-op and independents.
