Methanex Announces Its Regional Contract Methanol Prices

Methanex, the world's largest supplier of methanol to major international markets, has announced its regional contract methanol prices for North America, Europe and Asia.

For Europe region, Methanex has posted its contract price for January 1-March 31, 2014 period at €450/mt, up from the last quarter’s contract price of €408/mt, according to the company’s website.

For the North American region, the non-discounted reference price for January 1-31, 2014, would be US$ 1.90/Gal or US$ 632/mt (converted to US$/mt using a conversion rate of 332.6 Gal per mt), same as those prevailing last month.

Similarly, for the Asia-Pacific region, the Asian posted contract price would be US$ 590/mt for the period from January 1-31, 2014, up from the price of US$ 550/mt for December 2013.

Methanol is an organic chemical that is used in the textile industry in manufacturing processes.
