Thailand’s Dept. of Industry and Trade office attributes the footwear exports gains to changes to the Generalized System of Preferences on custom duties granted by the EU in Q1 and ongoing economic recoveries in the U.S. and European Union.
Also, the government office said Thailand footwear producers have benefitted this year by increased orders from Nike, Adidas and Puma, who have moved unspecified order volume out of China.
