US-based Heart Imaging Technologies (Heart IT) has announced the launch of OsiriX interface for the WebPAX image management system.
OsiriX is an open-source software package for advanced post-processing of medical images and is the latest addition to the WebPAX workstation integration line-up.
OsiriX includes a 3D viewer, which allows the clinician to access to all modern rendering modes including multiplanar reconstruction, surface rendering, volume rendering and maximum intensity projection.
WebPAX provides DICOM storage, web-based distribution, and zero-footprint navigation for medical images.
It offers medical image management and distribution platforms, which enable the viewing of all medical images with 100% diagnostic quality.
Heart IT marketing and sales vice president Hiram Perez noted the OsiriX interface provides users of WebPAX with advanced analytical and post-processing image capabilities.
"Physicians can easily access and view medical images on the web from any geographic location. Once they have navigated to an image, movie, or 3D dataset in WebPAX, with a single mouse click they can immediately open that dataset in OsiriX in order to complete advanced analytical work.
"By combining WebPAX and OsiriX, radiologists and cardiologists now have the freedom to access their medical images on the web and perform advanced analytical work directly on their desktop or laptop computer from any geographic location."
WebPAX is the first US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved zero foot-print medical image workstation.
