Tesla is planning to upgrade its Model S sedan with advanced features, which includes automatic steering feature along with Range Assurance and Trip Planner applications.
Tesla has been offering over-the-air software updates, which facilitates seamless updates and enhanced user experience and the steering feature is expected to be a part of it.
According to reports, Tesla automatic steering features expected to be launched in the next three months, which will be a year ahead of other automakers, but it will be available only when the vehicle roll on freeways or major roads.
Apart from the automatic steering feature, Model S will get Range Assurance application that will communicate with the network of Tesla Superchargers and destination chargers to warn users before the vehicle run out of power.
The app runs in the background and the navigation system displays a map of the most convenient charging locations.
Tesla is also introducing 'Trip planner', an app that will automatically navigate users to their destination through fastest and most convenient path along with the best charging options in the route.
The company is also introducing enhanced safety features including Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Side Collision Warning.
