The downhill trend in the price indices for solid wood products for manufacturing wooden pallets and wooden packaging did not continue in the second quarter of 2012. The HPE wood-price index for “solid wood for wooden pallets” for the second quarter is 0.3% higher than the figure for the previous quarter at 149.2 points. This is still around 5.1% lower than the figure for the same period of last year, however. The index for “solid wood for wooden packaging” rose to 145.7, which equates to an increase of 0.6 percentage points.
