The Shanghai Steel Trading Center was established in Baoshan District in the morning of May 31, with steel products online sales, supplies procurement, circulation processing and supply chain financing as its main function. The center will strive become the "amazon" for steel in China's version, for right of China's iron and steel industry on discoursing and pricing on international steel market. It is exposed that the trade of the Center has exceeded ten thousand tons for the first day.
In order to promote further innovation of the pattern for trade of the iron and steel products, promoting the integration of steel industry service resources, with the support from Ministry of Commerce of State and the Municipal Government in Shanghai, the Commerce Committee in Shanghai and the Government in Baoshan District will list the Shanghai Steel Trading Center as key projects, include it into the projects under the cooperation funded by the Ministry and the Municipal Government. According to the principle of " Multiple cooperation with Government promoting, social participating, enterprise operating", the Government in Baoshan District and Baosteel initiated jointly to set up the Shanghai Iron & Steel Trading Center Co., LTD.
The Shanghai Iron & Steel Trading Center Co., LTD is to focus on electronic trading of steel spot, supply chain financing, information consulting business with market price index as the core, and strive to build up a leading international online electronic service platform for iron & steel industry, forming the steel supply chain service system with the characteristics of mass production, large circulation and big market. In the future, the centre is to base on Shanghai, radiate to Yangtze river delta, serve to whole country, and face the world to provide iron and steel industry upstream and downstream enterprises with the trading, capital, logistics, processing, technology, information process, such as one-stop service, forming the modernized steel supply chain service system, leading the change in steel circulation, striving to become a leading B2B service platform at home .
For a long time, Baosteel adhere to the development in interaction with information industry, promote the development of digital platform, construct a digitization iron and steel enterprise, and electronic commerce as the breakthrough point, exploring the new way for the development and the transformation and upgrading of the steel circulation industry. It is reported that Shanghai Steel Trading Center will provide innovative trading patterns promoting the steel industry chain to realize digitization management. Through the establishment of logistics, warehousing standard operation system, to promote the iron and steel logistics industry standard operation. Through integration of industry with finance to promote healthy development of financing environment for iron and steel industry and for small and medium-sized enterprise. Based on large scale of the real transaction to form "Shanghai Price" and " Shanghai Standard " in steel trading and service, and to form modernized chain service system for iron and steel supply, leading the change in iron and steel circulation, improving the service in iron and steel industry.
The purpose is to strive through efforts to realize annual volume for transaction reaching to 50 million tons in 2017, and the number of the membership reaching to 70 thousand, with annual financing scale up to 20 billion yuan, thus leading the transformation and upgrading of China's iron and steel industry, and promote power for discourse and pricing for our iron and steel industry on international market.
