Chinese exported 310,000 mt of metallurgical and semi-finished coke in September, almost three times what it exported a year earlier, preliminary data released Saturday by the General Administration of Customs showed. In September 2012, Chine exported 113,082 mt of metallurgical and semi-finished coke.
Compared with August, however, exports were down 16% in September.
From January to September, China exported around 2.7 million mt of coke, almost three times the 860,650 mt shipped out a year earlier. The jump can be attributed to the removal of the 40% export duty in January this year.
