The expansion which will include equipping a 20,000 ft2 facility in La Porte will create close to 19 new jobs by the year 2016.

The company is moving to the new location to support its growth strategy as well as enabling capacity growth.

Indiana secretary of commerce Victor Smith said: "Companies like Plastic Package recognize that Indiana is a state that works. What makes Indiana unique is the abundance of advantages companies find here. From our low taxes and pro-growth polices to our expanding infrastructure and talented workforce, Indiana offers an environment that lets businesses reach the next level in their strategic plans."

Currently, the company employs more than 85 associates in California. It plans to begin hiring in Indiana for production and supervisory positions this month.
