The 38th edition of the China International Furniture Fair has ended in Shanghai, recording positive results and creating great satisfaction among those operating in the sector, therefore confirming CIFF as one of the best furnishing sector business platform in Asia.
This edition has recorded 85,000 professional visitors (10,000 more than in the previous edition, with a particularly significant rise in foreign visitors), including buyers, dealers, designers, architects, real estate operators, developers and journalists from more than 30 countries worldwide, attracted by the considerable offer of products from more than 2000 exhibiting companies, by the services created by CIFF in order to facilitate the business relationships between exhibitors and visitors, such as the numerous B2B meetings featuring approximately one hundred delegations of international buyers; and by the 48 forums and events organised in order to provide essential information about the Chinese and international furnishing market.
CIFF Shanghai 2016, from September7 to 10, was organised for the second time in the very modern National Exhibition and Convention Center in Hongqiao, covering a surface area of more than 400,000 square meters. According to the figures available, and the impressions of the exhibitors and visitors, the event is undergoing constant growth, proving to be an indispensable occasion for all sector operators, who were able to benefit from a range of products that is increasingly focused on quality, design and innovation.
There were many, unexpected new developments. First of all, in addition to the usual CIFF commodity sectors (home design, modern home furniture, classical home furniture, home decor and home textile, outdoor & leisure, office furniture, hotel furniture, furniture machinery and furniture raw materials), some new, innovative categories have been added, such as smart household appliances, 3D printers and healthcare assistance furnishing, therefore demonstrating renewed focus on the demands of a constantly developing market.
With the aim of providing the best possible service, and ensuring contents that are interesting at all levels, more than 40 content-packed events were organised, of which the East Design Show definitely stood out. Now in its second edition, this event, designed and curated by Zhu Xiaojie, Hou Zhangguang and Song Jianming, by involving the best Asian design brands, academies, designers and the media, created a captivating exhibition, making a strong cultural contribution, and based on the careful selection of well-designed, high-quality furniture, designed by both renowned designers and emerging young talents.
The Office Life Theme Pavilion housed futuristic workspaces, where ergonomic, ecological and aesthetic concepts were highlighted and treated as elements that are now essential for living and working to the best level possible.
