Huntsman has unexpectedly shut its ethylene oxide unit in Port Neches, Texas for an unplanned maintenance, a company spokeswoman said Thursday.
"We anticipate the unit will resume operation this weekend," Huntsman spokeswoman Anne Knisely said in an email. Citing company policy, Knisely could not comment on any details of operation.
The facility, which has a capacity of 1.25 billion lbs/year, returned from a heavy maintenance turnaround last month, according to Huntsman.
The planned outage of the olefins and ethylene oxide facilities took longer than expected because of start-up issues and adverse weather conditions, the company said in a March 19 statement.
