Eco-Friendly Process to Bleach Garments Is Unveiled by MACTEC

Attending for the first time to the most important fair in the denim market, MACTEC brings forward the Paris winter with a breeze of frozen air to the next edition of Denim by Première Vision.

It’s all about ICELITE, the exclusive clean, safe and eco-friendly MACTEC machine that bleaches garments by using recovery CO2, without generating secondary waste or releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere.

With ICELITE, a cold flame of dry ice particles – a material approved by EPA, USDA e FDA – is directed toward the fabric to remove the superficial indigo dyeing through mechanical abrasion: the output is very similar to those obtained with more traditional treatments like sandblasting or permanganate spray, that however in the long-term appear to be harmful for environment and workers.

On the contrary, with ICELITE, MACTEC is showing everyone a future where producing denim becomes safer, cleaner and more eco-friendly. With great results: the ICELITE process can indeed be used alone, without any pre-treatments, or to enhance the effects of other processes like laser or ozone, for a truly beautiful and unique denim.

ICELITE is the result of a two-year intense research: a very important goal for a company that, since the beginning, has constantly researched for innovative and eco-friendly solutions in order to offer to the market the most high-tech solutions, such as MARGHERITA, the most renowned and best-selling machine for the creation of 3D whiskers.
