Reef announced its new head-to-toe partnership with Evan Geiselman. Florida native Geiselman is only 21 years old, but has been known in competitive surfing circles for over a decade. In addition to his incredible surfing talent, Evan has appeal and influence that resonates with the broader lifestyle market, which makes him a perfect fit for Reef.
The talented goofy-foot hails from the surfing hotbed of New Smyrna Beach. His father Greg is longtime shaper under the label of Orion Surfboards and his brother Eric is also one of the most exciting surfers to come out of the Sunshine State. Evan started competing at the age of 7 and owned the amateur ranks as a grom, still holding a record 15 NSSA titles.
Evan has been among the top American surfers in the World Qualifying Series for the past five years. In 2011, he won the Rob Machado Seaside Pro presented by Hurley and Reef, then took the Vans Triple Crown Rookie of the Year honors. In 2012, he was runner up at the ASP six-star Australian Open. In 2013, he made the finals of the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico and most recently won the Kona Pro Jax in his home state. Now Geiselman joins the Reef Ambassador program with some longtime friends.
“When we first started talking about joining Reef, I got excited just because of the crew. I’m really good friends with Luke Davis. I’m good friends with Mitch Crews. I’ve known Shea (Perkins) since my first sponsorship and kept in contact since,” says Geiselman. “I came in to Reef HQ with my manager and we left in awe of the opportunity that I was going to get to be part of Reef. Being with a few of my really good friends was just a bonus.”
“We are all excited to add Evan’s well-rounded personality and charisma to the Reef Family,” says Global Ambassador and Events Manager, Shea Perkins. “His ability to reach a broader audience through success in and out of the water is remarkable and we’re looking forward to working with him through this next journey.”
“Really it’s the product. It’s Reef’s approach,” adds Geiselman, “They’re ‘Just Passing Through’ and that’s what I’m doing.”
