United Caps, a Luxembourg-based high performance cap and closure systems manufacturer, is set to acquire the plastic closures division of Closures4you.
The acquired assets include 28mm caps for re-usable glass bottles as well as for disposable PET bottles.
United Caps said that the acquisition is part of its growth strategy and with the acquisition the company wants to ensure future market supply from its production facility in Schwerin, Germany.
United Caps CEO Benoît Henckes said: "With this strategic step, United Caps is driving forward the modernization of its product portfolio."
"In accordance with the principle of ‘less is more’, we are working to restrict product complexity within our portfolio as much as possible while still offering first class closures for all PET and glass bottles.”
United Caps said that the takeover will see the design of a new closure to replace some previous closures.
Closures4you plans to make its closure capacities available till the end of March 2018 to ensure a smooth transition in terms of customer supply.
As part of growth strategy, United Caps acquired Dewit Plastics’ acquire caps, closures and handles business in June 2017 for an undisclosed amount.
With around 500 employees, United Caps has manufacturing facilities in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg and Spain.
Financial terms of the deal are not disclosed.
