China's Total Ship Export Value Was $4.75 Billion, Down 31.6 Percent in Jan-Feb

In the January-February period of this year, China's total ship export value was $4.75 billion, down 31.6 percent year on year, while the country's total ship import value amounted to $270 million, up 3.1 percent year on year, according to the figures issued by the Chinese customs authorities.In February, China's total ship export value was $1.87 billion, down 25.6 percent year on year and down $1.02 billion month on month, while the country's ship import value amounted to $90.92 million, down 39.3 percent year on year and decreasing by $83 million month on month.

In the first two months, China's bulk freighter export value was $2.61 billion, accounting for 54.9 percent of the total ship export value, its oil tanker export value was $670 million, accounting for 14.1 percent of the total ship export value, while the container ship export value was $240 million, accounting for 5.1 percent of the total.

In the given period, China's exported ships to 133 countries or regions. The respective values of China's ship exports to Hong Kong, Singapore and Liberia were $1.07 billion, $790 million and $310 million, down 50.3 percent, 9.6 percent and 31.7 percent respectively, all year on year.In the first two months of the current year, China imported ships from 26 countries or regions. China's ship import value from Asia in the given period amounted to $190 million, accounting for 70.4 percent of the total and up 0.2 percent year on year.
