GEO Semiconductor, the four year-old pixel transformation specialist, has raised $13m following its takeover of Maxim's digital video business.
"We're poised for incredible growth," GEO vp Brian Gannon told the recent Globalpress Summit in Santa Cruz.
GEO has a pixel- transforming processor called eWarp which can perform unlimited pixel transformations such as de-warping wide-angle, fisheye and 360 degree video streams, enabling automated digital camera and HUD calibration.
So a fisheye camera shot can be transformed in real-time into a flat image.
The Maxim acquisition and the new funding will allow GEO to accelerate its product development efforts.
