Interstoff Asia Essential has a well-established reputation of showcasing the latest in-demand textiles, in particular eco-friendly, fashionable and functional fabrics. The 2013 spring edition, to be held from 13 to 15 March 2013, is no exception, with new and returning exhibitors displaying their fabrics with an eye towards the spring / summer 2014 fashion trends.
The fair, held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, will also feature new regional pavilions and product zones, as well as the increasingly popular research and education zone, which presents the most up-to-date industry technology.
Exciting first-time exhibitors, zones and pavilions offer new options for visitors
The textile industry is moving towards fabrics that are not only fashionable, but also eco-friendly and functional.
This year, a number of new exhibitors have chosen Interstoff Asia Essential as their platform to take advantage of this trend. Kowa Asia Ltd, whose Japanese parent company has over a century of experience, is a supplier of creative and innovative eco-friendly textiles. They specialise in woven fabrics and organic cotton, and are GOTS- and Organic Exchange 100-certified.
Yamanashi is another first-time exhibitor from Japan who uses spring water from Mt Fuji and fine-count woven yarn to produce fashionable, high-density fabrics. Meanwhile, Taiwan Functional Textiles, exhibiting at this fair under the umbrella of the Taiwan Textile Federation, is a functional fabrics supplier that has developed a certification system of 18 functional textiles that international buyers can utilise to simplify their sourcing.
Printed fabrics are also an increasing feature of Interstoff Asia Essential. Making its debut appearance, the Printed Fabrics zone is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, and the Shaoxing County Bureau of Commerce. It will feature a range of highly in-demand printed fabrics, and is located in the trend forum where visitors can gain inspiration for the spring / summer 2014 season.
Also appearing for the first time, the Shaoxing pavilion will join other Chinese regional pavilions at Interstoff, giving visitors a greater range of options for sourcing from Chinese suppliers. Led by the Shaoxing County People's Government and the Shaoxing County Bureau of Commerce, a total of 32 exhibitors have confirmed their participation.
They will showcase a wide range of cotton and cotton-interwoven fabrics, fashionable prints, wool and wool-like products, and more, with a special focus on knitted, printed and embroidered items.
