Sara Lee Premium Meats, owned by US-based Hillshire Brands, has revamped the packaging of its turkey, chicken and ham deli meats in the deli segment and now feature the Heart-Check mark in the celebration of American Heart Month.
The new packaging also features a new logo, packaging and point-of-sale materials on sliced-to-order deli meats.
In addition, Sara Lee Premium Meats has taken steps to build on these product offerings as its sliced-to-order turkey, ham and chicken products are claimed to be free from added hormones, trans fat, MSG, gluten, fillers and artificial flavors.
Sara Lee Premium turkey, ham and chicken sliced-to-order products are available in 29 varieties including flavored deli meats, such as Basil Pesto Chicken and Chipotle Seasoned Turkey Breast priced at $6.49-$8.99 per pound.
American Heart Association introduced the Heart-Check mark in 1995 to provide consumers an easy, reliable system to identify heart-healthy foods as a first step in building a sensible eating plan.
Hillshire Brands is involved in meat-centric food products and foodservice operations and offers consumer brands such as Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Ball Park, Aidells, Gallo Salame and State Fair.
