Allen Coding Systems was chosen by Pork Farms as proven 4ACC off-line carton coder to replace an old machine at its factory in Shaftesbury.
Pork Farms, a manufacturer of Scotch eggs, crispbakes and cooked cocktail sausages, uses 4ACC carton coding system to handle the requirements of new packaging for products including Snackpots for Tesco Southern Fried Chicken and Mini Eggs, according to packagingeurope.com.
Pork Farms chief engineer Simon Greenwood said the 4ACC has come to grips with the issue of code drift and wastage that they were experiencing with the previous labeling system, whose life span is all but over.
"The best features of this Allen machine are its ease of use and ability to facilitate quick changeovers, enabling it to deal with numerous product changes each day." Greenwood said.
Using a pusher plate system, the 4ACC carton coding system passes cartons swiftly across a tabletop surface for coding before collating them for removal using a simple out-feed system.
According to the company, the 4ACC construction with mounted castor wheels makes it the right choice for use in the food and pharmaceutical sectors where cleanliness and portability are necessary.
