The Korean Blast Furnace Mills' Prices Fell Slightly in The Second Quarter of This Year

Reportedly, the Korean blast furnace (BF) mills’ prices fell slightly in the second quarter of this year.

It’s learned that Posco and Hyundai Steel’s domestic selling prices of hot rolled coils (HRC) averaged at KRW720,000/ton in the second quarter of this year, decreasing by around KRW20,000/ton from a quarter ago.

Besides, the domestic selling prices for heavy plates averaged at KRW780,000~KRW790,000/ton in the given period of time, falling by KRW20,000~KRW30,000/ton quarter on quarter.

In fact, the Korean steelmakers had sought to raise HRC prices for the second quarter but they failed as the import prices of HRC from China had dropped since February.
