According to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Association (JISF), Japan’s output of small-size steel bar totaled 741,000 tons in July, down by 0.7% year on year and fell by 9.6% from a month ago. In the first seven months of this year, the country’s small-size steel bar production totaled 5.4704 million tons, increasing by 2.6% year on year. It’s estimated that Japan’s small-size steel bar output would be at 9.38 million tons in the whole of 2013.
