Guru Cycles will soon be offering complete bikes for the first time. Guru sells framesets in either custom or stock geometry, and as of this week offers the option of purchasing a complete bike.
"The decision to offer our customers complete bikes is a based on our promise of delivering an optimal complete product. You now can purchase one of our exceptional frames in custom or stock geometry and as a complete bike built with top of the line components," said Ted Matthews, the company's CEO.
For road bikes, Guru will offer complete bikes built with some carbon fiber Photon Series and Flite framesets. Metal framesets available as complete bikes are the Praemio R titanium, the Praemio and the steel Sidero.
For triathlon, the CR.901 and the CR.301 will be available as complete bikes.
The complete bike line includes some models available with custom geometry and some available with stock geometry only.
The parts groups include components from Shimano, Reynolds and Ritchey. Retail prices range from $3,100 for the Flite built with Ultegra to $15,500 for a custom geometry Photon HL with Dura-Ace Di2 parts.
Last year Dorel Industries acquired the intellectual properties rights to Guru's bike fitting system. Dorel then sold the license to the Guru brand back to the company for use in selling bikes and frames for $1. Guru's bike business is completely independent of Dorel.
