Industry sponsors are being sought for the inaugural CycleSF, a fun ride that will open 24 miles of San Francisco’s streets to cyclists and benefit the city’s Recreation and Parks Department.
CycleSF is set for Sunday, April 28, with a fundraising goal of more than $100,000. Money raised will go toward new bike racks in San Francisco’s parks, as well as the Recreation and Parks Department’s scholarship fund that supports recreation programming for low-income children and families.
“Cycling promotes a healthier lifestyle, reduces traffic congestion, and creates a greener environment,” Mayor Ed Lee said in a statement. “CycleSF gives San Franciscans an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate a great recreational activity while supporting our parks.”
