Engel Austria is set to exhibit new production concepts for the manufacture of composite parts at Composites Europe 2016.
The event will take place from 29 November to 1 December in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The machine manufacturer will exhibit pre-series production solutions for the automobile, teletronics and technical component sectors at the event.
Engel has developed a new reactive unit, which can be aggregated with different types of firm’s injection moulding machines.
The company, along with Schöfer, developed a pre-series manufacturing cell to produce thermoplastic fibre-reinforced components by using the in-situ polymerisation technology.
Shovels are produced on the Engel -duo 1560/700, which can be used in a wide range of applications, including automotive industry.
With the support of v-duo series, Engel has developed a compact and energy-efficient machine specifically for fibre composite applications and multi-component processes.
Through collaboration with Bond-Laminates and Leonhard Kurz, Engel has also developed effective production cell for the manufacture of housings, which can be used in the production of notebooks, tablets, smartphones and other hand-held devices.
The company has designed advanced automated production cell for the material combination of a thermoplastic and continuous fibre reinforced semi-finished part and the IMD film developed and patented by Bond-Laminates Bond-Laminates and Leonhard Kurz.
Engel’s Center for Lightweight Composite Technologies is engaged in the development of new methods in the production of fibre-reinforced plastic components.
Its core areas of activity include the processing of thermoplastic semi-finished parts such as thermoplastic fabrics and tapes, as well as thermoset compression moulding materials such as SMC along with reactive technologies using thermoset and thermoplastic systems.
