Australian coking coal producer Beacon Hill Resources has announced that it has commissioned the Minas Moatize wash plant, with the first coal production expected in May.
According to Beacon Hill Resources, the plant, which was fabricated and designed in South Africa and transported to Tete in Mozambique, was redesigned in November 2012 to be more capital efficient which resulted in savings of 80 percent.
Additionally, the company and the Mozambican government signed a mining contract, allowing the government a five percent equity stake in the project.
