The GPI Congratulates Maryland Delegate Maggie Mcintosh and State Senator Brian E.Frosh

The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) congratulates Maryland Delegate Maggie McIntosh and State Senator Brian E. Frosh for their sponsorship of Maryland’s Recycle For Real legislation.

In addition to GPI's glass container manufacturing member companies, which supply containers to the U.S. food and beverage industries, GPI also represent glass container recycling companies, a key supply group.

GPI President Lynn Bragg said, “GPI manufacturing members have made environmental sustainability an important focus in their companies' footprint. Using recycled glass in our manufacturing process allows GPI members to significantly reduce our energy consumption, reduce our carbon footprint and keep glass out of landfills. Glass bottles are 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in purity or quality. There is a strong demand for source separated recycled beverage bottles and they will be fully utilized by the U.S. manufacturing sector. GPI urges the Maryland Legislature to pass the Recycle For Real bill into law.”
