In January this year, China’s producer price index (PPI) decreased by 1.6 percent year on year and indicated a slight rise of 0.2 percent compared with December 2012, China’s National Bureau of Statistics announced on February 8. Among producers’ purchase prices, in January prices of ferrous metals saw a year-on-year decline of 6.5 percent and a month-on-month increase of 1.0 percent.
Meanwhile, China’s consumer price index (CPI) in January witnessed a year-on-year increase of 2.0 percent, while it was up by 1.0 percent month on month.
