Italy-based Omet has installed the first Xflex X6 equipped with an offset group with sleeves at Masterpress in Poland.
The 10-color Xflex X6 430 installed at Masterpress, located in Bialystok, Poland, has five offset (sleeve) groups, five UV flexo units, cold foil, rotary die-cutting and a Vision-1 automatic register system.
Omet sales marketing director Marco Calcagni said the company is pleased to have its first press equipped with sleeve offset at such an important customer.
"The choice was strategic for both; Masterpress was looking for one in-line offset press with characteristics of high speed, excellent quality results and ease of management, while we were looking for the right customer who could fully exploit the machine potential," Calcagni said.
Xflex X6's new offset group with sleeves offers the customer with advantages such as the extension of the format range with 1/48 in incremental steps; and ease of job change, as the storage space and the handling load have been reduced with the use of lightweight sleeves.
According to the company, the Xflex X6 at Masterpress, which has been installed and commissioned, went through final acceptance during December 2012.
Masterpress operates five Omet machines, including the new Xflex X6, which it uses to print shrink sleeve and in-mold labels for the food sector.
