Packaging products manufacturer Starlinger has inaugurated the new headquarters of its recycling technology division in Austria.
Located in Weissenbach, Lower Austria, the new facility will take over Starlinger’s recycling operations from its Vienna head office as well as its existing factory in Weissenbach.
Construction work on the facility, which is located in close proximity to the existing Starlinger factory, started last year while workers began being transferred to the new facility this summer, Starlinger said.
The firm held customer event “dynamic days’ at the new site which included live demonstrations. The series of events were attended by around 150 guests from 34 countries.
Starlinger recycling technology head Andreas Pechhacker pointed out parallels between machine setup and the new building design: lighting, fire protection, temperature control, and the alarm system are integrated into a PLC control unit.
Additionally, the new facility uses 100% renewable energy for its operations, Starlinger said.
Managing partner Angelika Huemer said that recycling technology is an integral part of the company.
“We are committed to the future of recycling at Starlinger. Recycling is here to stay.”
Starlinger provides machinery and process technology for woven plastic sack production while its recycling technology has been providing machinery solutions for the recycling and refining of a wide range of plastics such as PE, PP, PA, PS, BOPP and PE.
The Starlinger PET recycling systems produce food-safe rPET and are ideal for use in food applications.
