In mid-October (October 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod and 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet were recorded at RMB 2,878.0/mt ($468.7/mt), RMB 2,957.6/mt ($481.7/mt) and RMB 3,170.1/mt ($516.3/mt), up RMB 66.7/mt ($10.9/mt), RMB 67.5/mt ($11.0/mt), and RMB 6.0/mt ($0.98/mt), indicating respective increases of 2.4 percent, 2.3 percent and 0.2 percent compared to prices in early October (October 1-10), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on October 24.
During the given period, the average prices of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles in China were recorded at RMB 3,094.1/mt ($503.9/mt), RMB 3,814.4/mt ($621.2) and RMB 3,162.2/mt ($515.0), down RMB 6.2/mt ($1.01), RMB 21.8/mt ($3.6) and RMB 6.4/mt ($1.04/mt), decreasing respectively by 0.2 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.2 percent compared to prices in early October.
